Written as an occasion piece for the 100th anniversary of the First World War, Centenary had a simple concept: different scenes showing the three minutes before a nuclear strike. Across scenes in shops, government offices, or homes, the true history of the strike was revealed, along with various interweaving personal stories.

 

It was shortlisted for the Karl Kraus Award, and marked an important shift for me towards writing more sketch-like plays with lots of scenes, interwoven to create a wider narrative.
